Your data, plainly.
Log Simply is a personal activity tracker. It exists to help you notice your days. Everything below describes how we treat the data you create while doing that — written in language a normal person can read.
1. The short version
Your logs are yours. We don’t sell them. We don’t share them. They’re stored anonymously in Switzerland.
2. Who is responsible
The party responsible for processing personal data on this site and inside the Log Simply app is the operator of Log Simply, based in Switzerland. You can reach us at support@log-simply.com.
3. What we collect, and why
3.1 Account information
To give you an account that follows you across devices, we store the strict minimum: an authentication identifier (from your sign-in provider), and — if you choose to provide it — your display name. This information lives separately from your logs.
3.2 Logs and settings
Your logs (the entries you tap to record), your categories, your saved charts and your in-app settings are stored under an opaque user identifier. That identifier is not your name or your email. It cannot, on its own, be used to identify you outside Log Simply’s systems.
3.3 Technical data
Our hosting and authentication providers process the technical data needed to deliver a page or sign you in: your IP address, browser type, request timestamp. It is retained only for the time necessary to operate and secure the service.
4. Legal basis
We process your account information, logs and settings to provide the service you signed up for (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR — performance of a contract). We process technical data to keep the service secure and operational (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR — legitimate interest). We do not subject you to any automated decision-making, and we do not build advertising profiles.
5. Where your data lives, and who handles it
Your account information and your logs are stored on cloud infrastructure operated by a single third-party provider in Switzerland. That provider acts as our processor under a data-processing agreement and cannot meaningfully read your logs — they are keyed by an opaque ID. We don’t share your data with any other third party, and we don’t sell or rent it. This website itself sets no tracking cookies and uses no analytics; if that ever changes, this policy will say so.
6. How long we keep it
We keep your account and logs for as long as you keep an account. When you delete your account, all associated data is permanently removed. We don’t keep “dormant” or “shadow” data.
7. Your rights
Under the GDPR (in the EU/EEA) and the Swiss FADP, you can:
- Access the data we hold about you.
- Export a complete copy of your data anytime, via the in-app export feature.
- Correct any inaccurate information we hold about you.
- Delete your account permanently — including all logs, categories and account information — from the Profile screen.
- Object to processing or request restriction, by writing to support@log-simply.com.
- Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. In Switzerland: the FDPIC.
8. Children
Log Simply is not directed at children under 13 (16 in some jurisdictions); if you believe a child has provided personal data, write to us and we’ll delete it.
9. Changes
We may update this policy; the date at the top reflects the current version.
